What happened, at first, no one understood

We made it to the street and tried to look around
People were screaming: run for your lives
The mountain top, above the town, has collapsed
And pyroclastic flows wreck havoc for miles

The air around me got heated and it got me back to reality
As someone shouted: keep running, it's catching on us and all behind us is dying

The scene was unfolding our impending doom
This artist of fire destroys, then creates
